Anonymous asked: when you say 90 minutes is excessive, is it bad when i swim very intense practices 6 days a week for 180 minutes a day? like i burn about 2,100 calories a practice, but i find it so hard to eat what i need to, which is about 3,600 a day during the season.

I’m assuming that you’re on a swim team, which means that you’re an athlete training for a specific goal. This means that you’re outside of the “weight loss” specific training zone, and what I said to the other person doesn’t necessarily apply to you.

If you’re having trouble getting your caloric intake during the season, I’d try adding 2-3 servings additional servings of lean meat (which will help build and preserve muscle), 2 servings of Healthy fats (such as avocado, coconut, peanut butter, and almonds) and 2 additional servings complex carbohydrates and starches (like brown rice, black beans, lentils and oats) to your food schedule a day. When all else fails, shoot for a protein shake (just watch the sugar)

I hope this helps!!
